Effects of this medicine

This medicine controls gastrointestinal motility by suppressing dopamine activity, and suppresses nausea by acting on CTZ (chemoreceptor trigger zone) involving in nausea.
It is usually used for the treatment of gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, abdominal bloating, upper abdominal discomfort, abdominal pain, heartburn and belching) associated with chronic gastritis and gastroptosis in adults, associated with cyclic vomiting and upper respiratory infections in children.

Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist

  • If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
    If you have: gastrointestinal bleeding, mechanical ileus, gastrointestinal perforation or pituitary tumor.
  • If you are pregnant, possibly pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)

  • Your dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor is ((        to be written by a healthcare professional))
  • For adults: In general, take 1 tablet (10 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, 3 times a day, before meal. If you also take levodopa preparation, take 5 to 10 mg of the active ingredient at a time, 3 times a day, before meal. The dosage may be adjusted according to the age or symptoms.
    For children: In general, take 1 to 2 mg of the active ingredient per kilogram of body weight daily, in 3 divided doses, before meal. The dosage may be adjusted according to the age, body weight or symptoms, however, the daily dose should not be exceeded 3 tablets (30 mg). In addition, for children aged 6 years or over, the maximum daily dose is limited to 1 mg per kilogram of body weight.
    This preparation contains 10 mg of the active ingredient in a tablet. In any case, strictly follow the instructions.
  • If you miss a dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
  • If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Precautions while taking this medicine

  • This medicine may cause drowsiness/dizziness/light headedness. Pay close attention when you operate dangerous machinery such as driving a car.

Possible adverse reactions to this medicine

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include diarrhea, constipation, heartburn, nausea, vomiting, lactation, gynecomastia, drowsiness and rash. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
  • facial pallor/cold sweat, respiratory distress, hives [shock, anaphylaxis]
  • upward rotation of the eyes, muscle stiffness, tremor of limbs [extrapyramidal symptom]
  • decreased consciousness, impaired mind, muscle spasmodically contracting [consciousness disorder, convulsion]
  • general malaise, nausea, yellowing of the skin and the conjunctiva [liver dysfunction, jaundice]
The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.

Storage conditions and other information

  • Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
  • Discard the remainder. Do not store them.
